# API key lacks the required scope

`INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE` · HTTP 403

## What it means

The key is valid but does not carry the scope this request needs.

## What to do

The scope is named in both `detail` and the `WWW-Authenticate` header. An account owner can issue a key that carries it. Retrying with the same key will not help.
